Nature Freedom provides fun and inclusive nature experiences for young people (aged 12-35) of all abilities.

Nature Freedom was founded in 2017 by Mathew Townsend based on both his lived experience, and his belief there should be improved access and inclusive opportunities for people with disabilities and/or mental health issues to allow them to participate in nature-based activities and enhance their prospects of gaining meaningful and worthwhile employment.

Environmental Craft & Nature Workshops

Get your hands dirty and experience nature with all your senses at our fun, educational and environmentally sustainable workshops.

Learn how to create, make, and grow with activities that include:

  • Frog Hotel

  • Growing foods and community gardens
  • Nature card making
  • Bird and mangrove walks

School Holiday Programs

Nature Freedom is also a provider for three local council school holiday programs:

  • Brisbane City Council’s Active & Healthy program
  • Logan Council’s KRANK school holiday program
  • Moreton’s Bay Council’s Healthy and Active Holiday program
